Parents, teachers, society—everyone had something to say about who you are and what you’re capable of. And without questioning it, you accepted those beliefs as your own.


But beliefs are nothing more than stories—stories you tell yourself over and over again until they become the software running in the background of your mind. This software operates 24/7 from your neck-top computer, shaping your decisions, behaviours, and experiences, all without you even realising it. And depending on whether that software is working for you or against you, it can either propel you toward success or sabotage your dreams like a ninja in the night.

Let’s talk about self-sabotage, because, oh boy, does it show up in the sneakiest ways. Take one of my clients—let’s call her Sarah. So, Sarah was engaged to the love of her life, a wonderful man who adored her. They planned a picture-perfect wedding, complete with the dream venue, a honeymoon in the Maldives, and a guest list full of smiling faces. And then? The day before the wedding, she landed in the hospital with a mysterious but excruciating stomach condition. The wedding had to be cancelled. The very next day—her original wedding date—she was still in pain. But the day after that? Magically fine.


If this had happened once, it would have been bizarre. But it happened twice. Two wedding days planned, two sudden hospital visits and no vows taken. It wasn’t until we worked together using mind techniques like hypnosis and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) that we uncovered the root of the problem. As a child, Sarah had witnessed her parents’ constant arguing and internalised the belief that marriage = misery.   • What areas of my life feel frustratingly stuck no matter what I do?

  • Do I have any recurring patterns of failure or self-sabotage?

  • What beliefs did I pick up from my family about money, relationships, success, or happiness?

  • How do I talk to myself when I’m alone? Are those words uplifting or limiting?


Once you identify a limiting belief, the next step is to rewrite the story. And this isn’t just about positive thinking—it’s about deep, subconscious rewiring. Techniques like hypnosis, EFT, and visualization help create lasting change by installing new beliefs at the core level.
